We were two families staying at the end of october. It was our second time at Aquila Villa and we loved it just a little bit more because of the heated pool. The House is incredible nice and there is all you need to have a good stay, even a welcome package (cookies, oil, honey,...) and drinks. The view over the sea is incredible and best from the pool! We also loved the near tavern owned by the family of Eleonore. They are very nice people with very good origin food (and a lot of it!! ;) ) And visit the oilmill of the Melissakis family near the Villa. The oil ist wonderful!
We will be happy to come back and enjoy the peace and quiet.

We were 8 women and spent 8 days in this awesome house. Wonderfully furnished and lots of comfort! Infinity pool with a view of the sea, simply breathtaking! We didn't want to leave the complex at all. Niki and her husband were also extremely friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

We recently stayed with our family (5 aduls and 2 children) in this holiday villa for a week and we highly recommend this villa. First of all, the view of the villa was spectacular and the pool lovely. You will directly get a holiday vibe when you arrive there. The villa was spatious (even more than expected), clean and everythink was working perfectly. Lastly, the owner was so kind to provide us a basket with some food for breakfast as we arrived during the night and it was a national holiday so all stores were closed.

We, two families with two teenage daughters each, managed what everyone who stayed at Aquila Villa dreams of: we came back in the next year and our stay was as marvelous and wonderful as the first time. The villa is perfect and we will never get tired of the amazing view. Thanks to Chania Rentals who did - as always - a great job and to Arthemis for making this fantastic holiday possible. Hope to be back!

The panoramic view is breathtaking. You can never get enough of it. The house is exactly as shown in the pictures. No misrepresentation! Tasteful decor and comfort at its best.
We really appreciated the hospitality of Artemis and his Father. Niki and Artemis responded to our requests in an exemplary and prompt manner.
We were delighted to meet Niki after all the emails we have shared. Let’s not forget Cleopatra who was very discreet, efficient and helpful.
All in all, it was a DREAM trip.

this is our 2nd visit to the superior stunning Aquila villa in Chania. there really is nothing that comes close to this beautiful family villa , the views, the warm beautiful swimming pool, the facilities, and of coarse the exceptional views , the stunning interior, and the sheer comfort of quality and attention to detail. It really is perfect and when you drive along the stoney road and see it from a distance it’s truly stunning! it’s our favourite villa and favourite place in Crete , it’s amazing and everything you need re food, shops , restaurants , beaches , bars ,is all local in the beautiful Almyrida , we will definitely be back. such lovely hospitable hosts too.

We had a lovely time in villa Aquila . The villa is build on the top of a hill and has a dominant sea view with the best sunset in Crete. The house has all the facilities and the owner is super friendly and helpfull. We highly recommend !!

There are places so amazing and beautiful that you would prefer not to share the knowledge of it with others....this is exactly how we (two families with 4 teenage kids) felt during our stay in Aquila Vila. We have been to lots of great vilas (always booked with Chania Rentals) but this one was the best.
The house itself is really beautiful and perfectly equipped, the view is spectacular and the hospitality of Artemis together with Nikis support made of our vacation a wonderful experience.
We truly hope to back next year!

How does one write a review without using too many superlatives?! Villa Aquila was simply amazing. The villa itself is very spacious with plenty of indoor and outdoor room for the whole family to share. The views were ridiculous in a good way - too many pictures of glorious sunsets. After many years on the beautiful island of Crete, together with our teenage children we decided this time to stay in this fantastic house with many retreats for Kids and Adulds.
The location takes you in as soon as you drive up. The spacious exterior, the beautifully furnished interior and the large pool are only surpassed by the amazing view over Souda Bay - not only at sunset.
Artemis has created a beautiful oasis and is a perfect host. We all felt so comfortable that we can't wait to spend time there again in two years.

We had our Best Time with 8 People at this beautiful Place. The view is spectacular and even better in Person. The Rooms were beauftiful and very clean. We recommend this Villa 100%. Thanks also for the Service!

We have just spent the most glorious 2 weeks staying in the stunning Villa Aquila here in a beautiful Chania .
There are not enough words to describe the fabulous location and views from the peaceful infinity pool here. We had thee best holiday ever, starting from the owner meeting us with a fabulous welcome basket full of giddies, and essentials ( necessary after a late arrival) there are local tavernas, 7 mins a great local supermarket and 15 mins to the beautiful beach and shops and bars at Almyrida. The villa for us was in the best location away from it all.
The cleanliness of the villa is awesome and it’s furnishing likewise ! They have thought of everything , it was my absolute pleasure to water the stunning terracotta pots with an abundance of colourful plants and flowers, the space was absolutely perfect! There really is nothing like it! We were a family of 4/5 and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
If there was one thing I thought of that would be a perfect addition it would be towering robes aswell as the slippers they provide, but we have had an amazing time here and will for sure return .

We were amazed when in the early hours of the morning we turned a corner and saw the villa lit up. Although quite a ride to get to it, the villa is absolutely fantastic. Finished to an extremely high standard with every amenity possible, I couldn't recommend this villa enough. We spent hours just watching the cruise ships come in and out of the bay and the sunsets at night will never be forgotten.
Lovely greeting by Artemis along with a well stocked welcome pack and Cleopatra did a fantastic job of cleaning the villa and changing all the linen every 3 days. A big thank you to Niki too who kept in contact with us throughout the holiday. Chania rentals also arranged the car hire and this was spot on too. A truly memorable place to stay.

Besser geht es nicht. Es fehlt an nichts. Das Haus ist so gut durchdacht und wunderschön. Der Ort bzw die Lage des Hauses ist magisch und nahezu unbeschreiblich schön.

Wir fühlten uns von der ersten Anfrage bis zur Abreise sehr freundlich und kompetent aufgehoben und verbrachten einen tollen Urlaub auf einer wunderschönen Finca. Die Buchung und Onlineabwicklung war sehr unkompliziert und die Anreise bzw. die Ankunft war sehr entspannt. Alles entsprach absolut unseren Erwartungen und Vorstellungen - ein perfekter Ort zum Entspannen und Erholen.
Das Ferienhaus hat eine sehr komfortable Ausstattung, mit wirklich allem, was man so benötigt war. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und modern eingerichtet, sodass man sich wirklich wie zu Hause fühlt und den Urlaub in vollen Zügen genießen kann. Alles ist sehr sauber und gepflegt.
Das Herzstück der Villa war die große Außenfläche mit luxuriös großem Pool und spektakulärer Aussicht. Wir konnten uns gar nicht sattsehen…
Alles in allem waren wir mehr als begeistert, nicht nur von dem wundervollen Haus und der Umgebung, sondern auch vom Charme und der Freundlichkeit der Eigentümer. Einfach ein wunderschöner Urlaub an einem besonderen Ort.

We are big family of 10 people and we are in love with Crete! We come here every summer during last 8 years and we were always booking our villas through Chania Rentals because this company works as a Swiss watch :).
This year we first time booked Aquila and we are excited about our stay! Artemis and the family made everything JUST PERFECT for unforgettable stay and rest.
Every detail is thought through and done in a way to provide you ever best vacation! I will list only few of them.
Mattresses are so well balanced and comfortable that you feel like you sleep on a soft clouds. :)
Every room has both air conditioning and ventilator, so you can always switch during the night and sleep with the fresh air coming through the big windows.
House has wooden stairs and special shallow area in a swimming pool that are very safe and comfortable for small kids.
Swimming pool has a rough, grainy bottom and surrounding that also is very safe for kids and for senior people.
Whole area is organized in a way that it is enough space for any activities for the big family: huge living room table for gathering, sunbeds where you can drop yourself with the book, bbq place where you can also have a coffee only for two and (our favorite!) outside terrace with the incredible sea view where we were sitting with the glass of wine and looking on ferries leaving from Souda every evening when kids are already in bed.
All materials in the house are natural, beautiful and very well combined.
The location is fantastic - no neighbors, you hear only sheep's bells that sound like a "bells river" when they move around.
The view from villa is really breath taking. You can spend hours looking on tranquil picture of mountains and the sea.
And of course the special note should be about Artemis's hospitality! When my parents and sister's family arrived on villa they were very tired after 2 flights and whole night on the trip. Artemis and Niki prepared for them special cheese&vegetable pie in the oven and the whole basket with the fruits, snacks and wine. This is how your dream vacation should start, right? :)

Our stay at the Aquila Villa was just fantastic! The location, the house, the furnishings, the pool, the huge garden, the breathtaking view of the sea - everything top and difficult to beat. The images on the Internet correspond to reality. You feel good from the first moment and it's hard to leave.

The house stands on a mountain with an unobstructable and impressive panoramic view.
Each room is very clean and lovingly furnished.
As a greeting there was a welcome basket with all kinds of goodies and 1 bottle of wine. Artemis received us very kindly and gave us some tips on shopping.
We were there for 10 days and enjoyed every single day and especially the evenings with this mega view.
If we come to Crete again, it will definitely be back to this house.

This was the second time we were allowed to stay in the villa of Artemis and his family. Just like the first time, I don't want to talk too much. Everything was fine and there is nothing to complain about. We are already looking forward to next time, we have never had a nicer, better accommodation. And I am already 56 years old :-).
If I could, I would give a rating of 10 stars.

We had a very relaxing time at this stunning villa. The villa is very stylish with good quality furnishings and very comfortable beds and bedding. The bathrooms are all large and spacious with mainly huge shower cubicles. The bedrooms are all very spacious and the views from the upstairs balconies even better than the pool. It is the nicest villa and certainly the nicest view we have had when renting a villa in Europe. The panoramas were exceptional and so were the sunsets. The pool is beautiful and sunbeds very comfortable.
We ate one night at the local taverna where the food was tasty and big portions but we preferred the choice of restaurants and setting by the sea in Almyrida which is just a short drive away. There is a very small shop within walking distance as well but again more choice a little drive away. The villa is perfect for getting away from it all in a modern luxury environment. The driveway to the villa is unmade which we were a bit concerned about at first but our Volvo managed to cope with it. We liked watching the local goats and sheep. It's about 15 mins drive to Almyrida beach but the pool at the villa is better, you won't really want to leave except for meals out!

We had the most fantastic holiday.
The villa is superb, clean and bright. Everything we could have wished for was available and had been carefully considered- especially the eco friendly aspect.
The views are simply stunning and there are many interesting places to visit nearby.
The pool was big enough for 7 of us as were the grounds.
It was lovely to see and hear the sheep and goats every morning and evening- not forgetting the birds of prey above us.
Two of our party went on 40 mile bike rides, having hired bicycles.
The two restaurants nearby catered well for our needs although we had wonderful barbecues at the villa Too.
Each of our party had a great time - we couldn’t have asked for better. We found a small bay nearby where we swam on several mornings- along with local people. The welcome pack was really appreciated too as we arrived at 11pm.

We had high expectations and we were not disappointed in this lovely Villa. Artemis was very responsive from the booking to our stay. The welcome basket was really appreciated as we arrived later in the day. Any questions I had during the stay were answered very promptly.
A note for drivers: the Google maps is correct and you do have to drive down a rocky lane way to find the entrance gate to the amazing Villa. :-)
The WiFi worked extremely well and we enjoyed Netflix after we enjoyed the sunsets. The pool was huge and used often in our visit. We also visited the beach a few times at Almyrida which was lovely with lots of restaurants. Don't forget to visit or order delivery from Eleonora's Taverna. The food was very tasty and the portions big!
Looking forward to visiting our favourite Villa again.

Our stay was perfect in the Aquila villa.
From the first minute (Thank You Artémis for your wonderful "welcome basket") to the last one (enjoying this fantastic view for the last time !) our stay was perfect. Just as the pictures predicted, 4 big bedrooms with 4 bathrooms all of them delicately decorated.
One of us wanted to test each outside table (there are 4) to experiment each view from there ! ;-))
There are all comodities in the villages next to the villa (Plaka, Almyrida,...) and the people are very wellcoming ! (Our supermarket's owner in Plaka with his ten children was excellent !)
I especially wanted to mention Cleopatra (the cleaning lady) who had generous cares for our children (their teddies were lovely presented after her cleaning service !).
Once again, it was a pleasure to stay in this house. Thank you very much !

We spend a perfect week in Aquila Villa, the house is as beautiful as we could see on the pictures, and the view... Impossible to describe it has to be seen! By day and by night it's spectacular! Artemis was very helpful and everything is done to be sure that our stay is the best it can be. The food and bottle left for us to say welcome was very nice too. We recommand this place a thousand times!

There's nothing to figure out, it was just all perfect. This one week in the villa was just fun, holiday pure.

It wasn't just the owner who was very warm-hearted, helpful and kind - the villa itself has been outstanding, too! It has a lot of space, four bedrooms (each with clima and fan) and is furnished very nice and modern. The villa was very tidy. We were welcomed with a bucket full of essentials plus fresh fruits and even a bottle of wine.
When you sit on the terrace or on one of the balconies you can enjoy a brathtaking view on the mountains and the sea. You will never forget it!
If you want to eat a real cretan meal you just have to walk approx. 10 minutes by feet and you will find a little tavern , called "Eleonora's". This tavern offers tasty, homemade food which is cooked with love and is still affordable. We loved it!
All in all we really enjoyed our time at villa aquila and can recommend it to everyone who is looking for a special place to stay! Thank you very much!
